Differing barriers in healthcare access means that rare and ultra rare disorders may cluster within some of these populations. Some have unique cultural norms that may differ from the general population or may face more difficulty in finding their way to healthcare professionals. It is important for clinicians working with these populations to develop an understanding of the unique issues faced by populations within their locality. How do we reach these communities, and how can the EU help reduce access barriers?
