\u00c1mbito de aplicaci\u00f3n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El \u00e1mbito de especializaci\u00f3n de nuestro centro, como miembro de la Red de Referencia Europea (ERN) ITHACA, abarca los s\u00edndromes que presentan discapacidad intelectual (DI) y\/o malformaciones cong\u00e9nitas raras, con especial inter\u00e9s en las diferentes formas de malformaciones craneofaciales. Aproximadamente 1 de cada 40 reci\u00e9n nacidos presenta una malformaci\u00f3n cong\u00e9nita y hasta 2% padecen o presentar\u00e1n DI, causada por diferentes enfermedades que, consideradas individualmente, son raras, entre las cuales hasta 50% son de origen gen\u00e9tico o gen\u00f3mico. La competencia y el \u00e1mbito de especializaci\u00f3n del Centro de D\u00fcsseldorf ITHACA incluyen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • m\u00e1s de 5.500 s\u00edndromes dismorfol\u00f3gicos y de anomal\u00edas cong\u00e9nitas m\u00faltiples (ACM) (recogidos en la Base de Datos de Dismorfolog\u00eda de Londres), que incluyen enfermedades monog\u00e9nicas, anomal\u00edas cromos\u00f3micas (detectables mediante an\u00e1lisis cromos\u00f3mico convencional y\/o tecnolog\u00eda CGH-Array), anomal\u00edas multifactoriales o espor\u00e1dicas, as\u00ed como embriopat\u00edas y fetopat\u00edas de origen ambiental<\/li>
  • >1.500 formas monog\u00e9nicas y cientos de formas cromos\u00f3micas de discapacidad intelectual, con o sin trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) asociado.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Atenci\u00f3n a los pacientes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Department of Clinical Genetics at Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) works at two levels: we have a group of specialists in our unit and a close collaboration with the Center for Rare Diseases including a wide network within the whole AUH and even beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Department of Clinical Genetics offers \u2013 beside extensive genetic testing options – consultations for children and adults including diagnostic consultations, carrier screening, genetic counselling, prenatal testing and pre-implantation testing. Currently, there are six clinical geneticist’s senior consultants and 5 additional specialists, five residents in genetics, and four nurses working at the department. The department harbors specialist teams for rare disorders, prenatal, neurology, oncology, sex chromosome aberrations, kidney and skin diseases and rare liver disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The existing and consolidated multidisciplinary network at AUH aim for diagnostics according to highest international standards, and further strive continuously for patient centered care and optimal coordination. We also aim for a multidisciplinary approach when seeing patients in the outpatient clinic. This includes regularly multidisciplinary clinics that comprise a consultation with the continuous responsible health care professional (primarily the team’s geneticist or paediatrician at Centre for Rare Diseases, the team\u2019s nurse and other participants (eyedoctors, surgeons etc. from the team as needed based on an individual approach). Additionally, monthly multidisciplinary meeting\/conference with participation of above and other relevant specialties: discussion of diagnosis and treatment, discussion and planning of collaborative research, and establishments of common guidelines. The team is involved in multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of infants, children, adolescents as well as adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
