We are pleased to announce that <\/strong>the 8e<\/sup> European FASD Conference<\/strong> will be held in beautiful Amiens, France,<\/strong> from 13e<\/sup> to 16e<\/sup> September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference, held in Europe every two years, is the main event on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), and a great opportunity to put FASD in the spotlight. EUFASD 2026 is organized by Vivre Avec Le SAF <\/strong><\/a>in partnership with the European FASD Alliance<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will bring together the FASD community of families, professionals and researchers, but more than ever it is open to all those likely to contribute to FASD understanding and caring, in a bid to reposition fetal alcohol within the many broader fields of research and public action it belongs to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A variety of sessions and papers will cover a wide scope of topics<\/strong>:<\/strong>
\u2022 Pathophysiology<\/strong>
\u2022 Epidemiology<\/strong>
\u2022 Prevention & harm reduction<\/strong>
\u2022 Diagnoses<\/strong>
\u2022 Brain, cognition & behaviors (neurophenotype)<\/strong>
\u2022 Prognosis<\/strong>
\u2022 Interventions & care<\/strong>
\u2022 Adulthood & lifelong burden<\/strong>
\u2022 Empowerment & advocacy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among these, special emphasis will be placed on:<\/strong>
\u2022 Key mechanisms of alcohol developmental toxicity and susceptibility
\u2022 Cumulative vulnerabilities and comorbid risk factors
\u2022 Accuracy and reliability in epidemiological estimates
\u2022 Prevention and harm reduction in high risk population
\u2022 Improving diagnosis of non syndromic forms of FASD:
– etiological specificity and differential workup
– (bio)markers beyond facial features and exposure report
\u2022 Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) and FASD
– brain and neurodevelopmental phenotype
– meaning and coordinated use of the different types of diagnoses
\u2022 Evidence-basing for unspecific and FASD-designed interventions
\u2022 Anticipation and prevention of secondary disabilities and disorders
\u2022 Life paths, care paths, barriers and facilitators
\u2022 Expectations and challenges of new technologies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference will be accompanied by two associated events:<\/strong>
\u2022 On Sunday, September 13e<\/sup>, there will be a Family Day<\/strong>, open to all French-speaking families.
\u2022 On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 16e<\/sup>, there will be a training session for French professionals<\/strong>, particularly general practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
