{"id":563,"date":"2021-09-02T15:57:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-02T13:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ern-ithaca.eu\/?post_type=news&#038;p=563"},"modified":"2022-02-13T15:58:42","modified_gmt":"2022-02-13T14:58:42","slug":"new-mooc-session-diagnosing-rares-diseases-from-the-clinic-to-the-research-and-back","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ern-ithaca.eu\/it\/events-news\/news\/new-mooc-session-diagnosing-rares-diseases-from-the-clinic-to-the-research-and-back\/","title":{"rendered":"New MOOC session : \u201cDiagnosing Rares Diseases: from the Clinic to the Research and back\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new MOOC session (Massive Open Online Course)&nbsp;<strong>\u201cDiagnosing Rare Diseases: from the Clinic to Research and back\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;co-developed by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ejprarediseases.org\/\">&nbsp;EJP RD<\/a>&nbsp;(European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases), the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ern-ithaca.eu\/it\/\">ERN Ithaca<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.genturis.eu\/l=eng\/Home.html\">ERN Genturis<\/a>&nbsp;e il&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fondation-maladiesrares.org\/eng\/\">Rare Diseases Foundation<\/a>, will be held&nbsp;<strong>on October 4, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration is free of charge and available following&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/rare-genetic-disease\">this link<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course\u2019s first session has attracted nearly 1800 participants from 117 countries (40% outside Europe). With a 91.5% satisfaction rate and an 18.3% completion rate, and generated 1836 comments from learners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We specifically encourage medical and biomedical students to attend this MOOC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please find the course syllabus<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/rare-genetic-disease#section-syllabus\">qui<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few feedbacks from learners regarding the first session:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>\u201cAs a biologist involved in NGS analysis, I found the course excellent in giving an overview of the clinical aspects related to this method of investigation, Excellent structure and great coverage of topics.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u201cThe course has a framework that makes it suitable for participants ranging from novice to expert level.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em>\u201cAn excellent course! It provides us with basic knowledge and best practices that might be applied to research and clinical practices. As a clinical background, I would recommend this course to anyone interested in medical genetics for rare genetic diseases, including medical geneticists, genetic counsellors, clinical laboratory scientists and researchers.
