We are delighted to announce the Second Global and Sixth International Symposium Rare Disease Day 2026, held in recognition of Rare Disease Day and Sleep Awareness Month. The event is organized by the Regional Specialized Children’s Hospital in Olsztyn and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, under the auspices of EURORDIS (rarediseaseday.org) and the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS).
The Symposium will focus on rare neurodevelopmental and neurometabolic disorders, particularly those associated with brain malformations, paroxysmal events, movement disorders, and abnormalities of sleep patterns.
Invited speakers include representatives of centers affiliated with the European Reference Networks — ERN-EpiCare, ERN-RND, and ERN-ITHACA — as well as members of the International Consortium for Research on Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (IAHCRC).
The program will also feature patient representatives and families affected by alternating hemiplegia of childhood, Dravet syndrome, and adrenomyeloneuropathy, bringing valuable perspectives to the scientific and clinical discussions.
